Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteers are an invaluable part of the work we do at Bethlehem Centers of Nashville. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for those interested in being a part of our mission and giving back to the community (please see opportunities listed below). Child Development Program

Child Development ProgramWe serve 187 children 6 weeks – 12 years old through our comprehensive Child Development Program. We provide the highest level of care, receiving three stars (the highest possible) at each location, and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) at two of our sites. If you are interested in volunteering with our child development program, please consider one of the following opportunities:

Readers- Help enrich the lives of children in our daycare by volunteering your time to read a book to our kids in our special reading room.

Lunch Prep- Our Chef prepares a nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack for all three daycare facilities each day.  A little help from a volunteer is always appreciated!

Youth Development Program

Youth Development ProgramWe serve over 200 youth from ages 9-17 through our Youth Development Program. We also are looking for individuals who are interested in being a mentor to the youth in our program. Our Too Smart to Start Program is looking for Chaperones (3 per occasion) to assist with outings.

"Too Smart To Start" Chaperone- Accompany our youth from Too Smart to Start on outings around the Mid-South!

BCN Youth Mentor- Members of the community are needed to mentor youth at BCN.

The Shopping Bag

Volunteer to help operate The Shopping Bag thrift store at our 1417 Charlotte Avenue location.

Shopping Bag Sales Associate- Come be a part of the exciting transformation of The Shopping Bag! Duties for this position would include sorting and tagging clothes, and greeting and assisting customers.

Hot Lunch Program

Our Hot Lunch program partners with 14 area churches to prepare and deliver a hot meal to over 100 homebound seniors every day.

Hot Lunch Delivery Volunteer- The Hot Lunch Program needs drivers to drive their own transportation will pick up lunches from local churches and deliver to elderly and disabled individuals daily.
