Having grown up in North Nashville, Steve has a long history with Bethlehem Centers of Nashville where he was the recipient of childcare services – including his first immunization shots, after-school programs and, later, tutoring and volunteer opportunities during his elementary and middle school years. At the age of 14, Steve earned his first “paid” job through working with K-2nd grade students as a “front yard” teacher at the John Henry Hale Homes in North Nashville.

As a progressive leader with over 30 years of mission work experience, Steve attributes his commitment, love and joy in serving others as the result of his enriching experiences at Bethlehem Centers as a child. It is often that he gives praise and honor to Christ for allowing his journey to empower him to guide and serve others – and always putting service before self.
