The Greater Charlotte Hot Lunch Cooperative (Meals on Wheels), managed by Bethlehem Center of Nashville, serves daily hot nutritious meals to 216 eligible individuals and senior citizens. Established in the early 1980s, the Greater Charlotte Hot Lunch Cooperative began as a collaboration of five North Nashville churches working together to feed 36 seniors a daily lunch. Forty years later, the Cooperative has expanded to fourteen churches who assist in preparing the hot lunches each Monday- Friday. Through the generosity of Cigna Health Springs, many of the meals are now prepared on-site in BCN’s newly renovated kitchen. Its important to note that for many of the recipients of the nutritious lunch, its more than just a meal, the interaction with the volunteers who deliver the food and provide a warm smile and caring heart to lift their spirits!
